Second Annual Equestrian Society Awards.

United, inspired and unparalleled - this year the annual awards in the equestrian sector brought together the people who drive the world of horses in Bulgaria in one place. 🐎

Prominent specialists, competitors, horse breeders, trainers, craftsmen, scientific leaders and artists, whose greatest muse are horses, met on one stage. The event is organized by the National Horse Breeding Association in partnership with the Bulgarian Horse Tourism Association and Ezda Press. Just on the eve of Todorov Day, on February 27, in a capital club, the hosts welcomed the finalists in the 12 categories of the annual awards, as well as representatives of the Bulgarian Equestrian Federation, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Bulgaria, guests and media.

One of the strongest and most contested categories this year turned out to be Crafts. In which "Ezda Borovets" in the person of Ivaylo Stoychev-BUTCH was awarded.

There gathered more and more proven horsemen - people who keep alive one of the oldest crafts related to horses.

We also add some information about this old craft, which is less often mentioned.

Nalbantry is among the oldest crafts in the Bulgarian tradition. In the past, a good farrier was invaluable – the endurance of the horse, the safety of the rider and the strength of working cattle depended on his skill. This is not just putting on a horseshoe. A true farrier must understand the anatomy of the hoof, the gait of the horse, and the balance of the whole animal. A craft that requires patience, experience and great respect for horses. Such masters also reached the final in the category. The jury had to choose between three proven names - Miroslav Vasilev, Ivaylo Stoychev - Butch and Georgi Kostadinov.

After a contested competition, the prize was awarded to Miroslav Vasilev. The other two finalists, masters who have proven themselves over the years with their skills and the respect of the entire equestrian community, appeared on stage next to him with well-deserved pride.
